Director of Marketing
Sam is a DJ and entrepreneur. Music has always been a big part of her life as she grew up playing piano & few more instruments. She’s a self-taught DJ, thanks to YouTube tutorials & all those years of music theory classes. Along with DJ’ing, Sam also holds a Bachelors of Arts & Sciences from the University of Guelph and a Master’s in Management Innovation & Entrepreneurship from Smith School of Business (Queen’s University). Math Thru Music is a combination of her favourite things: music, education, and community. She aims for MTM students to envision a future for themselves in the industry – whether that’s means pursuing DJing, music tech, entrepreneurship, entertainment law, etc. – Sam wants them to understand that possibilities are truly endless!
Samantha also runs Solidarity in Sound (SIS), which has a mission dedicated to gender equity in music & nightlife. It’s about building an online, educational platform that offers career-advancement tools for woman and non-binary folks in the industry.
